Learn Lifesaving Skills
Start with no experience and take it one step at a time. Training is a great way to build skills, confidence and friendships.
You do not need to arrive as a lifesaver.
Many people begin by joining the club socially, coming to events, meeting people, helping out at activities, or supporting Nippers on the beach. It’s an easy, welcoming way to get to know the club and the community.
Over time, some people feel curious to learn more and choose to build new skills like CPR, first aid, beach safety or basic rescue knowledge. From there, some continue into formal lifesaving training and even patrol roles. The journey looks different for everyone.
For many, the value of training goes well beyond patrols. It builds confidence in the water, improves personal and family safety at the beach, strengthens teamwork and leadership, and creates practical skills that are useful in everyday life. Just as importantly, it often becomes a way to find your people through the crew you connect with and feel part of.
There’s no rush and no single pathway. You can go at your own pace, in your own way, and we will help you take the next step whenever you are ready.
