Most people don’t arrive knowing exactly where they fit, and that’s the beauty of St Kilda Life Saving Club. You can start anywhere and still get something meaningful out of your involvement. 

Come along to a BBQ and meet people who live nearby, share the same beach, and are often looking for the same thing: connection, conversation, and a sense of belonging in the local area. Join a social event and step into a relaxed space where friendships form naturally, without pressure or expectation. Attend an open day and see a different side of St Kilda – a community space right on the beach that you may not have known was open to you. Bring your kids and share in a family experience where they’re welcomed, included and engaged. Just turning up once gives you a sense of familiarity and comfort with the place and the people.

There is no single way to be part of the club. Some people discover they want to become lifesavers because they enjoy being involved. Others prefer helping behind the scenes, supporting Nippers, or contributing to events and community activities. Many simply become part of the social fabric of the club, the people who help make it feel alive and welcoming

However you begin, the outcome is the same: real people, genuine experiences, and a stronger connection to the St Kilda beach community.
