Nippers is a fun, active beach program where children build confidence in and around the water, learn essential water safety skills, and make new friends in a supportive, outdoor environment.

For parents, it is just as accessible. You don’t need any lifesaving experience, and you don’t need to understand how surf lifesaving clubs work when you first arrive. We will guide you through everything, including what happens each week, how sessions run, and the different ways you can be involved at a level that suits you.

For many families, Nippers quickly becomes more than just a weekly activity. It becomes a place to connect with other local families, share time at the beach, and be part of a welcoming community. 

There are many ways to be involved. Some parents simply enjoy watching and supporting their children. Others help occasionally with BBQs, setup or events. Some take on more active roles such as Age Group Managers. And some are inspired to go further, learning CPR, first aid or even stepping into lifesaving pathways themselves.

There is no pressure to do everything at once, and no expectation that you do.

For children, Nippers builds confidence and water skills. For families, it creates connection and a sense of belonging at the beach they already love.
