Find Your Place.

Join socially, meet good people, enjoy the club and get involved in the way that feels right for you.

Joining St Kilda Life Saving Club is about connection first.

You don’t need lifesaving experience. You don’t need to know anyone when you arrive. You don’t need to be ready for patrol, take on responsibilities, or have a clear idea of how you’ll fit in. The only thing you need is a willingness to show up and see what the club feels like.

From that first step, there are many easy ways in. You might start by joining a social. You might attend a beach walk, bring your kids to Nippers, drop into an open day, or simply spend time around the club getting to know the people and the place. Some people choose to help out in small ways when it suits them, while others are interested in learning new skills or exploring what’s involved in lifesaving over time.

What matters is that there is no single pathway, and no expectation that you decide everything upfront. People move at their own pace.

Some members do go on to complete lifesaving training and join patrols. Others stay focused on the social, family or community side of the club. Many simply enjoy being part of a welcoming local space by the beach. All of these choices are equally important.

At its core, every pathway into the club leads to the same thing. Friendship, connection, enjoyment, and a stronger sense of belonging to the St Kilda community.
