Throughout every season, St Kilda Life Saving Club allows club members to be part of the committee. Here, you can find out our committee and what each role entails.

Tim Norman

President

The Role:

  • Support and manage the strategy direction of the club and its board
  • Assist other Board members as required
  • Chair Board meeting and the AGM
  • Attends all key club events 
  • Media spokesperson when comments are required on behalf of St Kilda Life Saving Club
  • Attends the LSV Presidents Forum

Ingrid Magtengaard

Director of Administration
The Role:
  • Manage all administrative functions of the club, including secure management of WWCC records, processing memberships, club communications to members, and reporting to LSV
  • Collates the Annual General Report
  • Creating and processing minutes of meetings
  • Manage the relationship with City of Port Philip
  • Increase in active associate members

Michael Powderly

Director of Lifesaving

The Role:

  • Manage the patrol roster
  • Scheduling and oversee awards training and bronze courses
  • Ensures patrol requirements, such as patrol member number, skills levels, and equipment, are met
  • Patrol equipment maintained and meets audit standards
  • Supports patrol members
  • Manage the relationship with Life Saving Victoria
  • Increase in active patrol members numbers.

Ian Churchill

Director of Finance / Treasurer

The Role:

  • Manage all financial functions of the club — Including annual financial reporting, reporting on finances at committee meetings, BAS statements, and sponsorship applications
  • Inform the Board of any fiscal responsibilities
  • Managing financial systems that the club facilitates and uses
  • Update the Board at each meeting on the club’s finance and tracing against the budget
  • Investigate and apply for sponsorships and fundraising opportunities for the club

Director of Facilities

The Role:

  • Oversee the implementation of the Building Management Plan for the St Kilda Life Saving Club
  • Maintain the required quantities of cleaning and related items 
  • Monitor club utilise agreements and arrangements 
  • Support updates and facilities changes at the club

Sandra Madeley

Director of Activities
The Role:
  • Oversee junior activities (Nippers) undertaken by the St Kilda Life Saving Club
  • Supported by the Junior Activities Team
  • Overseeing youth (6-19 years) leadership and development activities
  • Club representative for the Membership & Leadership Development Council
  • St Kilda Club Championships, Nippers and Seniors combined event

Margaret O'Connell

Functions

The Role:

  • Oversee all areas related to functions – including responding to enquiries and related viewings
  • Manage the booking and enquiry system for functions
  • Increase the number of functions being held.
  • Supported by other members in cleaning of the hire space
  • Planning and organising club events

Support to the Directors

All of these director roles can only be successfully undertaken if club members support the directors. If this support is regular and ongoing a manager or office role under a director can be provided.
